MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Field Compliance Analyst (Pipeline / Utilities) located in Chicago, IL. Our client is a utilities Leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability

 

Overview:

We are currently hiring Field Compliance Analyst (Pipeline / Utilities) to support a critical Pipeline Retirement Program (PRP). This is a field-focused role, ideal for professionals with a strong utility construction or pipeline background who enjoy working on-site and ensuring safety and compliance standards are met.

This is not a traditional desk-based compliance role. You will spend the majority of your day in the field (~6 hours daily) auditing active construction sites and ensuring all pipeline-related activities meet company protocols and federal safety regulations.

You will work closely with Field Coordinators and contractors, acting as a key compliance resource to maintain safe and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Field Auditing: Conduct detailed audits of pipeline construction and retirement activities performed by internal teams and contractors

OQ Verification: Ensure all personnel onsite hold valid Operator Qualifications (OQ) for assigned tasks

Safety & Compliance Oversight: Confirm all work aligns with technical specifications and regulatory standards

Reporting & Collaboration: Participate in monthly review meetings to share audit findings, identify trends, and drive corrective actions

GIS Mapping & Tracking: Use Navigate (GIS) or similar tools to locate sites, track progress, and document compliance data

OQ Certification: Maintain and obtain required OQ qualifications (training provided)

Required Qualifications

3–5 years of experience in:

Utility construction

Pipeline operations

Field compliance / auditing

Strong understanding of gas utility pipe activities

Experience with GIS tools (Navigate or similar)

Ability to interpret technical standards and compliance manuals

Strong communication skills working with field teams and contractors

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across assigned regions

Ability to work outdoors on construction sites for extended periods
