Job Overview:

The QC Inspector at Primoris Services Corporation is responsible for ensuring the quality of construction projects by performing inspections and verifying adherence to specifications, plans, and regulatory standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety across various projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine and specialized quality control inspections of construction materials, equipment, and workmanship throughout project phases (e.g., excavation, concrete, structural steel, piping, electrical, coatings).
  • Verify that all work performed complies with project drawings, specifications, codes, standards, and company quality manuals.
  • Document inspection results, including deficiencies, non-conformances, and corrective actions, utilizing established reporting procedures and software.
  • Monitor and witness critical construction activities, tests, and processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and craft personnel to address quality issues and facilitate effective resolutions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis of quality deviations and contribute to the development of preventative measures.
  • Review and approve contractor quality control plans and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all quality control activities, including inspection reports, material certifications, and test results.
  • Promote a culture of quality and safety on the job site.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance/quality control procedures.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field or technical certifications (e.g., \"AWS CWI\", \"NACE\", \"ACI\", \"API\") preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a QC Inspector in heavy civil, industrial, or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., \"API\", \"ASME\", \"AWS\", \"NEC\", \"ACI\", \"AISC\`).
  • Proficiency in conducting various quality control tests and inspections.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of project personnel.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable with construction management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
  • Physical ability to perform duties in demanding construction environments, including walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
