Position: Line Locator
Reports To: Project Manager
Summary: Performs pipeline right-of-way maintenance. This position requires a variety of tasks related to the pipeline or utility right-of way maintenance in adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Essential Qualifications, Duties, and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Responsible in handling one call system for client.
  • Ability to complete internal crossing documents for the client.
  • Ability to temporary mark assets for client in compliance with state law.
  • Ability to conduct inspection and provide oversite for third party excavation activities including pipeline exposure, open cut crossings, road crossings, ditch cleaning, and excavations within close proximity to client's assets.
  • Ability to perform ROW maintenance including the ability to permanently mark pipeline assets.
  • Ability to respond to and investigate aerial patrol process.
  • Responsible for communications to landowners and provides required reports daily.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and meet company MVR specifications.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions; work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of radiation and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
ROW Technicians must be willing to comply with PCM Health, Safety, and Environmental rules and regulations. They must also comply with all governmental regulations.
