Job description

Position Overview

The Pipelayer plays a critical role in the installation and maintenance of piping systems for various projects at Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. This position is responsible for laying pipe for storm drainage, sewer systems, and water mains, ensuring compliance with safety and project specifications throughout the installation process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Excavate trenches and placements for pipe installation using hand tools and machinery.
  • Lay, assemble, and install pipes according to blueprints and project specifications.
  • Ensure proper alignment, grade, and depth of pipes for drainage and hydraulic requirements.
  • Monitor the installation process to maintain safety and compliance with local regulations.
  • Conduct inspections of pipe systems and troubleshoot any installation issues to ensure functionality.
  • Backfill trenches and restore work sites after installation is completed.
  • Work closely with team members and supervisors to coordinate installation activities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a pipelayer or in a related position is required.
  • Knowledge of various piping materials and installation techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering plans.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions.
  • Proficient in operating excavation and installation machinery.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work overtime and on weekends as required.
