Job description

Pipe crew members needed for Houston area civil construction installing storm drain pipe, sanitary sewer mains and water mains. DNT is looking for a full crew, but need the following: Superintendent, Leadman, Excavator Operator, Loader Operator, Pipelayers, Pipelayer Helpers, and Laborers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead, plan, train and review the work of an assigned crew responsible for providing maintenance services for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Plan, direct and participate in the maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
  • Use of and operation of various equipment including a truck, excavator, loader.
  • Perform the full range of duties in the assigned area of work.
  • Inspect water distribution mains and lines for needed maintenance and repairs; lead and participate in the repair of water mains and lines; install clamps, pipe or fittings; make proper tie-in.
  • Participate in the connection of meter services; take meter readings as appropriate
  • Working with inspectors for necessary approval on work completed.
  • Lead and participate in infiltration control of sewer utility lines.
  • Work with outside contractors as required.
  • Ensure the safety of crew members and the surrounding public.

Typical work week is 50 hours per week Mon-Fri, weather permitting.
