Job description

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Skilled Laborer to assist with pipefitting, plumbing, and metal fabrication work on active construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience measuring, cutting, preparing, and installing various types of piping and metal materials. This position requires strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely alongside plumbers, pipefitters, welders, and other skilled trades.

  • Assist with the installation, repair, and replacement of plumbing and piping systems.
  • Measure, mark, cut, and prepare metal pipes and other materials according to project specifications.
  • Operate metal-cutting equipment, including grinders, saws, pipe cutters, and other power tools.
  • Assist pipefitters and plumbers with assembling, aligning, fitting, and securing piping systems.
  • Thread, bevel, deburr, and prepare pipe for installation.
  • Read basic measurements, construction drawings, and pipe layouts.
  • Load, unload, organize, and transport piping, fittings, tools, and materials.
  • Help identify leaks, damaged piping, and installation issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
  • Follow all jobsite safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform additional skilled labor and general construction duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with pipefitting, plumbing, mechanical piping, or a related construction trade.
  • Experience safely cutting and preparing metal pipe.
  • Ability to use grinders, saws, pipe cutters, drills, and basic hand tools.
  • Familiarity with pipe fittings, measurements, and basic piping installation methods.
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, from ladders, and in active construction environments.
  • Must have reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
  • Must have required PPE, including a hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, and work boots.
