The Yard Operator supports pipe movement, inventory accuracy, and quality compliance within the threading department’s pipe yard.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

  • Coordinate with Heavy Equipment Operators to ensure proper rack storage.
  • Monitor pipe flow to ensure accurate placement of threaded and unthreaded stock.
  • Check SLNs and associated documentation for correct pipe quantities and location.
  • Responsible for filling out all paperwork assigned accurately.
  • Assist in inventory audits and track material movement for production scheduling.
  • Conduct visual inspections for correct stencil markings, thread protectors, and mill identifiers.
  • Report damaged, mismarked, or missing protectors and coordinate timely remediation.
  • Ensure compliance with handling standards to preserve pipe integrity.
  • Keep racks, walkways, and staging zones clean and orderly.
  • Follow PPE requirements and safety protocols.
  • Communicate risks or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
  • Must be familiar with size, weight, grade, connection, and mill of all pipes being loaded or unloaded.
  • Familiar with a pipe yard layout.
  • Must be able to always conduct yourself in a professional manner when dealing with external and internal customers.
  • Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Follow all applicable instructions, specifications, and related requirements to meet the company's objectives.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
