Job Description Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in pipe and plate welding along with metal fabrication. S/he has ability to interpret blueprints, project plans, and isometric drawings to complete pipe fitting and welding tasks. S/he must be able to accurately pre-fab and install pipe replacements and upgrades. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with construction and maintenance teams to ensure safe, high-quality project execution.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, isometric drawings, and written instructions to complete pipe welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Weld and pre-fab piping systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform GTAW (Tig), SMAW (Stick), and FCAW (Mig) welding.
  • Work with carbon steel, stainless steel (304L & 316L), aluminum, and alloy 20 metals.
  • Perform all welding, fabrication, and finishing processes to support piping, tubing, plate, and structural steel projects.
  • Perform plastic/polymer welding on occasion.
  • Repair equipment in the field, as needed, including within confined spaces.
  • Inspect and test pipe welds for quality, durability, and safety, report issues or malfunctions as necessary.
  • Operate machinery and equipment to fabricate, assemble, and repair pipe and steel components.
  • Ensure compliance with universal welding standards, specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to integrate fabricated piping into structural projects.
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and weld pipes according to specifications.
  • Support site safety programs and actively participate in failure analysis to resolve equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in both shop and field settings.
  • Properly use and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience as an industrial welder.
  • Ability to build and prefab piping systems from 2D and isometric drawings.
  • Proficiency with pipe welding techniques and related tools/equipment.
  • Ability to pass a 6G pipe weld test (GTAW root, SMAW cap)
  • Strong technical knowledge of blueprints, welding diagrams, and pipe fabrication standards.
  • Experience using welding tools, machinery, and measurement instruments (powered saws, calipers, squares, etc.).
  • Keen eye for detail with a results-driven approach.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, and lift heavy materials.
  • Willing and able to become confined space entry certified.
  • Willing and able to become respirator certified.

  • No direct responsibility exists for the work of others, although adherence to the team concept requires mutual assistance in some jobs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Shop and industrial manufacturing areas without climate control
  • Must be able to go up and down several flights of steps on occasion.
  • Must be willing to wear required PPE including hard-hat, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and any other devices or equipment that is required.
