Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Pipefitter position will work under direct supervision of the job site Foreman. They are responsible for installing VRFs, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, VAVs pumps and associated piping.
This position shall incorporate the Fidelity Mechanical Services' Vision and Business Strategy by providing "Proactive World Class Service" to the markets served, based on Profitability, Credibility, Employee Base Environment, Customer Service and Quality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Install steel and grooved pipe.
  • Install copper solder, press and brazed pipe.
  • Install PVC pipe.
  • Install balancing/isolation valves, strainers, gauges etc.
  • Install gas piping, threaded and press.
  • This is a non-exempt position. Working more than 40 hours a week qualifies as overtime and must be preapproved by your supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
The employee must be available to work various shifts as scheduled and must work 40 hours each week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
A Pipe Fitter must be capable of performing the following physical activities:
  • Lifting carrying and climbing up to a 20" foot ladder. (20 or more times a day)
  • Being able to balance and perform work while on the ladder. (Throughout the day)
  • Being able to support the weight of pipes and hangers while on the ladder. (Throughout the day)
  • Being able to reach overhead to make connections and work with equipment.
  • Working on Power or Scissors Lift with attached Safety Harness (Throughout the day)
  • Working on Rooftops up to six stories high (Periodically)

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • 8-10 years working as a Pipe Fitter or Pipe Fitter Apprentice in the HVAC Industry.
  • Valid driver's license
