Plan, layout, perform and oversee a variety of pipefitting and plumbing duties. Maintain, troubleshoot and repair piping systems and associated equipment throughout plant and offsite locations while practicing and complying with environmental, health and safety directions and procedures.
What You Will Do:
  • Work from maintenance or service directives to respond and repair any plumbing related problems.
  • Work from blueprints, diagrams, drawings, sketches, schematics or other written or verbal instructions to install, modify or repair plumbing related systems.
  • Dispense propane to consumers as required.
  • When off normal shift coverage respond to emergency facility problems as required and follow up on findings.
  • Work with a variety of liquids, chemicals and gases such as water, steam (high and low pressure), air, CO2, chill water, propane, hydraulics, fire protection lines, vacuum, natural gas, ammonia, acids, alkalines, sanitary and industrial waste, hydrogen, nitrogen.
  • Use a variety of tools such as pipe benders, threaders, torches and other tools pertaining to trade.
  • Select and install various types of insulation to suit requirements.
  • Troubleshoot, overhaul and repair valves, pumps, regulators, backflow preventers and associated equipment.
  • Fabricate and install hangers, brackets, braces, and other means of support as required.
  • Use ladders, hoist and power operated man lifts to facilitate repairs.
  • Order parts and maintain stock of plumbing supplies as required.
  • Clean out wet dust collectors, drains and ditches.
  • Instruct one or two fellow employees in the proper performance of duties.
  • Keep equipment and surrounding areas neat and clean.
  • Improve process and solve problems in cooperation with fellow employees and technical support group.
  • Perform related duties as required within scope of this job function.
  • 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to 12:00am
  • Training could potentially take place on 1st or 2nd Shift for up to 6 months.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • 4-5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience with lock-out tag-out
  • Experience with blueprints, diagrams, service manuals, drawings, sketches, or other instructions.
  • Previous experience with pipefitting, plumbing, heating, sanitary and acid waste, backflow prevention, and mechanical repair.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Requires a valid motor license and certification for powered industrial trucks.
  • Experience in confined space and hazardous material handling.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 5-7 years of trades training/experience.
