Perma-Pipe in Camrose, Alberta Canada is hiring Yard Labourers!

We’re looking for motivated, dependable, and safety-focused Yard Labourers to join our growing team.

Perma-Pipe Canada, Ltd. is a dynamic, global supplier of pipe coating solutions and factory pre-insulated piping systems serving the oil & gas, district heating and cooling, and industrial markets. With a strong focus on quality, safety, and innovation.

This is an on-site, Canada based position and candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.

Required:

  • Ability to commute: Camrose, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
  • Schedule: Available to work day and night shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays
  • Must Be: Flexible to work varied shifts, weekends, or on-call assignments as required
  • Shift: Must be able to work 8 to 10-hour shifts

Essential Job Functions

General Duties

The Yard Labourer will perform a wide variety of production, repair, coating, and yard support activities, including but not limited to:

Pipe Coating & Production Support

  • Perform various tasks throughout the pipe coating and manufacturing facility.
  • Operate control panels to maintain consistent coating processes.
  • Assist with foam application and coating operations.
  • Inspect foam coatings and assist with quality checks.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, plant start-ups, and shutdowns.
  • Support production staff in achieving daily operational goals.

Pipe Repair & Coating Repair Activities

  • Measure and inspect pipe steel to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Perform pipe repairs and steel preparation activities.
  • Gas-cut and trim pipe for repair purposes.
  • Operate electric saws, grinders, and other hand and power tools.
  • Perform grinding, surface preparation, and finishing work.
  • Operate electric bevelers to repair and prepare pipe ends.
  • Complete steel repairs and associated finishing work.
  • Install repair sleeves and coating repair systems.
  • Perform pipe coating repairs using approved repair materials and procedures.
  • Apply two-part coating repair products and protective coatings.
  • Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Complete all paperwork, documentation, and repair records accurately and thoroughly.

Material Handling & Yard Operations

  • Assist forklift operators with loading, unloading, and staging pipe.
  • Help prepare trucks for loading and shipment.
  • Construct and maintain pipe racks.
  • Build pads and support structures for storage and handling operations.
  • Perform rope cutting and other material preparation duties.
  • Conduct general labour activities throughout the yard and facility.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Perform general housekeeping and cleanup activities.

Safety & Team Participation

  • Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous industrial, manufacturing, construction, coating, fabrication, or labour experience is considered an asset but is not required.
  • Experience with pipe coating, coating repairs, grinding, beveling, or steel preparation is an asset.
  • Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment is an asset.
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices and hazard awareness is preferred.
