Retail Pharmacy Technician – Travel ContractTruckee, CA | Up to $1,190/Week | 26-Week Assignment

Are you a California-licensed Pharmacy Technician looking for your next opportunity in a beautiful mountain community? We are seeking an experienced Retail Pharmacy Technician to join a high-volume community pharmacy in Truckee, California, supporting both local patients and nursing home residents.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy retail setting while enjoying one of California's most sought-after outdoor destinations near Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake.

Position Details

Location: Truckee, CA
Start Date: July 27, 2026 (ASAP Consideration)
Contract Length: 26 Weeks
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
4-Day Work Week

  • Monday – Thursday or
  • Tuesday – Friday
  • Four 10-hour shifts

Travel Pay Package: Up to $1,190/Week

Responsibilities
  • Process and fill prescriptions in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Enter prescription orders accurately
  • Assist customers at checkout and provide excellent service
  • Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls
  • Support medication services for nursing home residents
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and healthcare staff
  • Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety standards
Pharmacy Environment
  • Approximately 400–500 prescriptions filled daily
  • High-volume community pharmacy

The Retail Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.  The Retail Pharmacy Technician is responsible for maintaining a professional attitude that ensures efficient, accurate, and timely distribution of medications processed through the retail pharmacy.  The Retail Pharmacy Technician will maintain the drug inventory, process patient prescriptions, process insurance claims, and maintain patient records.  Responsibilities also includes assisting pharmacy customers both in person and via in bound phone calls.  

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or its equivalent certification
  • Graduate of accredited Pharmacy Technology Program 
  • PTCB or NPTA license preferred or as required by state/contract
  • Minimum of one year relevant experience preferred
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
