Job description

Veterinary Technician Instructor – Substitute

Location: Pima Medical Institute - El Paso Campus | On-Site

Position Type: Part-Time, Substitute/PRN (As Needed)

Compensation: $28.19 – $35.23 per hour

Pima Medical Institute is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to serve as a Substitute Instructor on an as-needed basis at our El Paso campus. This is a flexible opportunity to share your hands-on expertise with the next generation of Veterinary Technicians while maintaining your current clinical career.

Schedule Options:

  • Morning: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver engaging lectures and hands-on lab demonstrations aligned with the established curriculum.
  • Monitor laboratory competencies and use standardized checklists to confirm student skill levels.
  • Track student attendance and report as required.
  • Support student success through encouragement and targeted intervention.
  • Record grades and ensure the classroom and lab environment meets all safety standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree from an AVMA CVTEA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) status or other required Texas state designation.
  • Minimum 3 years of practical, hands-on experience in the veterinary field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
