CAPE School - Pima County Juvenile Detention Center
The Pima Accommodation School District is currently looking to hire a full-time Special Education Teacher to join the education team at the CAPE School - Pima County Juvenile Detention Center. This is for the 2025-2026 School Year.
MINIMUN REQUIREMENTS
Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate
Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement
Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Eligible to obtain security clearance from the Pima County Juvenile Detention Center
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Fluent in preparing lesson plans using blended learning in College and Career Readiness Standards; and providing specially designed to meet the needs of individual students.
Proficient in collecting and maintaining data on student progress.
Shows experience in developing and implementing student transition plans.
Experience working as a case manager for students with disabilities with duties including, but not limited to advocating for students, collaborating with general education teachers, monitoring for accommodations being implemented, maintaining effective communication data, and all responsibilities for Special Education Compliance.
Experience in monitoring confidential files and IEPs to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance.
Knowledge and understanding of differentiated learning.
Fluent in using technology tools to generate special education documents, including IEPs and reevaluations, and use of the Google platform for teachers. Shows experience working with "trauma care" and/or Secure Care settings.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) Immunization
This is a full-time position with excellent benefits, including paid leave and holidays. The salary for this position will depend on experience and certifications related to the position. Candidates selected for interviews will be required to produce a copy of their valid Arizona Teacher Certificate.
