Job description

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials that are sold into the battery manufacturing supply chain.
The Maintenance Technician at ABTC will work closely with Engineering, EHS, Operations, Production, and R&D teams to effectively enhance production at our Pilot Plant. The ideal candidate should possess a solid background in industrial manufacturing, with a focus on hands-on repairs. This position involves monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process equipment to support the production of advanced battery materials. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an innovative team where you can further your career and develop your skill set. The role will report directly to our Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting as well as preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Handle both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requests for production and facility equipment.
  • Guarantee that equipment is maintained in accordance with the standards set by the Engineering department and the Maintenance Manager.
  • Work in conjunction with the Engineering team to address necessary repairs.
  • Review and clearly communicate all equipment downtime and productivity metrics, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with 480 VAC and lower voltage systems, including electrical panel wiring.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of NEC codes and familiarity with NFPA 70E practices.
  • Capacity to maintain a safe and tidy workplace while complying with company policies and industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English.
  • Proficient in using spreadsheets, word processing, and various computer applications.
  • Experience collaborating with production teams.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification.

Physical Demands
  • Proficient in standing and sitting for extended durations.
  • Ability to walk throughout the facility.
  • Capable of bending at the waist.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to eye and face protection, hearing protection, respirators, and protective footwear with coverings.
  • Must have 20/20 vision or corrected vision.
  • Capacity to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work in environments that may involve prolonged exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals.

Expected Pay Range
$25/hr - $40/hr
Compensation for this position may vary based on a number of individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
