Pickleball Instructor (Independent Contractor - 1099)

We are seeking an energetic, reliable, and passionate Pickleball Instructor to provide high-quality instruction for players of all ages and skill levels. The instructor will lead private lessons, group clinics, beginner programs, and specialty training sessions while creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment. This is an independent contractor (1099) position offering flexible scheduling and the opportunity to help grow the sport of pickleball within our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach private, semi-private, and group pickleball lessons.
  • Conduct clinics, camps, and instructional programs for players of varying skill levels.
  • Provide instruction on pickleball fundamentals, strategy, rules, sportsmanship, and match play.
  • Create a fun, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques, drills, and game strategies.
  • Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure a safe playing environment and enforce court safety standards.
  • Support special events, tournaments, and leagues
  • Maintain professional communication with players and program staff.
  • Set up and break down equipment before and after lessons and clinics.
  • Promote participation and help retain players through exceptional customer service.
  • Stay current with pickleball teaching methods, trends, and best practices.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and game strategy.
  • Previous coaching, teaching, or instructional experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with players of all ages and abilities.
  • Professional, dependable, and customer-service oriented.
  • Current pickleball instructor certification preferred (PPR, IPTPA, PCI, or equivalent).
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills and remain active on court for extended periods.

 

Compensation and Classification

For time spent performing services, you will be paid 50% commission for each personal training (1 on 1 session) performed.  For any group fitness sessions, you shall be paid $60 per session performed.


Schedule

  • Flexible schedule based on lesson and clinic demand.
  • Availability during evenings and weekends preferred.

Independent Contractor Status

This position is an Independent Contractor (1099) role. The instructor is responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, and business-related expenses associated with independent contractor status.
