What does a picker warehouse associate do?

A Picker Warehouse Associate is responsible for locating and selecting items from inventory shelves based on customer orders or shipment requests. They use hand-held scanners or pick lists to identify the correct products, ensure order accuracy, and prepare items for packing and shipping. The role often requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, Picker Warehouse Associates may help with inventory counts, restocking, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a picker warehouse associate, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Picker Warehouse Associate, you need strong attention to detail, basic math skills, and physical stamina, usually supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. These abilities ensure accurate order fulfillment, efficient workflow, and a safe, productive warehouse environment.

This can make it challenging to maintain accuracy and efficiency while managing physical fatigue.
