Introduction:
This position has the responsibility of leading and managing a multi-shift, multi-function Warehouse Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Creates and maintains a productive and content workforce that takes pride in safely and quality
  • Champions changes to move the business in the correct direction
  • Advanced Organizational skills
  • Coordinates activities and processes between shifts
  • Oversees schedules of all Warehouse personnel and approves vacations
  • Provides oversight of and direction to Warehouse supervisors
  • Has regular meetings with Warehouse supervision
  • Understands the function of all Warehouse personnel
  • Coaches Warehouse personnel to improve performance and capabilities
  • Reviews weekly performance information to determine if new employees should move past the probationary period
  • Works to continuously improve the operation of the Warehouse
  • Manages Warehouse hours to operate at the lowest possible cost and reduce overtime
  • Completes and reviews all payrolls on a weekly basis
  • Develops and implement programs that minimize errors
  • Minimizes lost or damaged equipment and insures individual employee accountability for incidents
  • Works closely with all other departments and attend meetings as needed
  • Covers Warehouse supervisor vacations, as needed
  • Fills-in, as needed, when there is insufficient Warehouse personnel to cover the required work
  • Must be fully qualified to do any Warehouse task
  • Assists in maintaining food safety program and documentation
  • Responsible for processing of lumper receipts as well as checks and cash from Receiving department
  • Oversee and follow up on receiving in bound freight schedules
  • Attend daily credit meetings and verify information for reliability
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Prefer 4 years of warehouse supervisory experience or experience in management.
  • High School graduate or GED required
  • Must be able to use good judgment in decision making
  • Computer experience is required including Word, Excel, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Experience with one or more computerized Truck Routing Packages is a plus
  • Prior foodservice experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to continuously walk the warehouse floor, cooler and freezer for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to bend, reach and also to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Warehouse environment with noise, dust, odors, and a diversity from very warm to very cold temperatures.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disability to perform the essential functions.
