Role Description

Warehouse Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Warehouse Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of our warehouse and material handling equipment. This position requires hands-on experience in electrical wiring and repair, welding, carpentry, and preventative maintenance with a strong focus on industrial warehouse equipment including forklifts, dock doors, and dock levelers.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and capable of troubleshooting facility and equipment issues with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure that all forklift equipment is operating properly and safely
  • Operates all material handling equipment required
  • Ensure maintenance tasks throughout the facilities are being completed according to schedule
  • Responsible for the inspection and repair of doors, dock plates, racking and additional equipment
  • Responsible for inspecting building and grounds and performing general building maintenance including dock levelers, racking, and lighting
  • Maintains forklift and building maintenance operational history by initiating and updating records
  • Perform building and equipment audits
  • Coordinate and track preventative maintenance
  • Initiate and schedule repairs
  • Perform repairs on equipment
  • Maintains safe work environment
  • Monitor and maintain battery maintenance
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience with various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, order pickers, clamp trucks is a plus
  • Building maintenance experience including lighting, dock doors, dock levelers
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Must have a strong attendance record
  • Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Forklift certified or able to obtain certification
  • Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
  • Technical courses and training a plus
