Job Summary:

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations within the AVW manufacturing environment, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, equipment, parts, and finished goods to support manufacturing schedules and customer delivery requirements while maintaining accuracy, safety standards, and operational efficiency.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations

  • Direct and manage daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, storage, and fulfillment orders.
  • Work with ERP Implementation department and to develop and implement warehouse procedures to improve productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Ensure proper material handling, storage, and organization of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Coordinate with sales, manufacturing, carriers, freight providers, and suppliers regarding shipment schedules and delivery requirements.
  • Verify receiving documentation, inspect incoming materials, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure shipping documentation, bills of lading, packing slips, and export paperwork are completed accurately.

Inventory Management

  • Manage inventory levels to support manufacturing demands while minimizing excess inventory. Notify purchasing department for any low stock items.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP/MRP system.
  • Lead cycle count programs and annual physical inventories.

Fulfillment & Customer Orders

  • Oversee order fulfillment activities to ensure on-time and accurate customer shipments.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, and sales teams to prioritize orders and meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor fulfillment performance and implement improvements to reduce errors and improve delivery performance.

Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and develop warehouse personnel, including shipping, receiving, and fulfillment staff.
  • Establish performance expectations and conduct employee evaluations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety.
  • Analyze warehouse workflows and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop KPIs and monitor performance metrics such as:
    • Inventory Accuracy
    • On-Time Shipment Rate
    • Order Fulfillment Accuracy
    • Warehouse Productivity
    • Receiving Accuracy
    • Freight Cost Management
  • Partner with cross-functional departments to improve material flow and warehouse efficiency.

Qualification / Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in OEM manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control, shipping, receiving, and fulfillment operations.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing material flow and production support requirements.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and warehouse reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and drive process improvements.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment.
