Position Summary

The Warehouse Receiving & Fulfillment Specialist performs a combination of receiving, forklift operation, inventory handling, and hands-on pick-and-pack responsibilities.

This is not a forklift-only position. The employee must be willing and able to regularly get on and off the forklift, manually handle materials, prepare orders, and perform physical warehouse work throughout the shift.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in all three of the following areas:

  • Operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Receiving and verifying incoming shipments
  • Picking, packing, staging, and preparing materials or orders

Essential Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming raw materials, supplies, and finished goods.
  • Unload trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or other material-handling equipment.
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
  • Inspect deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report concerns promptly.
  • Accurately record receiving transactions and inventory movements in company systems.
  • Pick, pack, label, stage, and prepare materials or finished products as required.
  • Regularly get on and off the forklift to perform hands-on material handling and order-fulfillment work.
  • Transport and store materials in designated warehouse and production locations.
  • Issue raw materials and supplies to production departments.
  • Stage materials for scheduled production jobs.
  • Maintain accurate material identification, labeling, storage, and inventory records.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory.
  • Communicate material shortages, damaged goods, and receiving discrepancies to Purchasing and appropriate team members.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized receiving, warehouse, and storage areas.
  • Follow all safety requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and company policies.
  • Perform additional warehouse and material-handling duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous hands-on experience in receiving, pick-and-pack fulfillment, and forklift operation.
  • Ability and willingness to perform both equipment operation and physical warehouse duties throughout the shift.
  • Experience verifying shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, stage, organize, and move materials.
  • Basic computer skills and experience entering inventory or receiving transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate effectively.
  • Dependable attendance and a positive, team-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and established procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience using inventory, warehouse, or ERP systems.
  • Experience conducting cycle counts or physical inventories.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Regularly get on and off a forklift.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Work in an active manufacturing and warehouse environment.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Warehouse Receiving & Fulfillment Specialist safely and accurately handles the complete flow of materials—from receiving and verification through storage, picking, packing, staging, and delivery to production. This individual is equally comfortable operating a forklift and performing hands-on physical warehouse work while maintaining strong accuracy, organization, productivity, and teamwork.

If you are an experienced warehouse professional who enjoys variety and takes ownership of the entire material-handling process, EMP Labels, an Inovar Packaging Group Company, would like to hear from
