Process Control Engineer

Location: Multiple locations LaSalle, LA, Demopolis, AL and Amite, MS.

Your Day-to-Day as a Process Control Engineer. You'll:

  •  Promote a proactive HSE culture and develop leadership skills in HSE.
  • Ensure effective HSE management by adhering to systems, performing compliance audits, and providing process control support to ensure safe operations.
  • Participate in Risk Management through Process Hazard Analyses and Management of Change reviews.
  • Manage Incident Response by promptly reporting incidents and participating in investigations.
  • Support Asset Management with technical assessments and guidelines.
  • Develop systems for the maintenance and optimization of plant controls.
  • Provide process control support to Operations and Maintenance Teams.
  • Evaluate tasks for abnormal plant controls and lead incident investigations.
  • Recommend improvements to control loops and alarm systems.
  • Implement technologies to enhance operating efficiency.
  • Develop control systems projects and comply with the Management of Change process.
  • Participate in HAZOP studies and apply project management skills.
  • Support planning and execution during plant shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • Identify projects for capital budgets with written justifications and collaborate with contractors on project scopes.
  • Create and review procedures for process control systems and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in generating management reports and operating budgets.

What you'll bring:
To excel in this vital role, you'll need:

  •  Bachelor's degree in a related field or a high school diploma/equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in process controls and electrical systems within an industrial plant environment.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a Process Control Engineering role; previous experience in electrical engineering or E&I occupations is beneficial.
  • Proficient in the programming and maintenance of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems.
  • Experience with PLC programming software such as Siemens Simatic Manager and TIA Portal or Allen Bradley ControlLogix.
  • Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including Allen Bradley PowerFlex, Siemens G120, or Schneider Altivar.
  • Experience with Smart Motor Control Centers (MCCs) such as Siemens SIMOCODE or Allen Bradley Intelli CENTER.
  • Knowledge of process control communication types, including Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Modbus.
  • Skilled in instrumentation troubleshooting and calibration.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 and the National Electric Code.
  • A good understanding of required codes, standards, acts, and regulations, along with awareness of various international codes, standards, acts, and regulations.
  •  The candidate must possess strong English verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook).
