Research areas in the section include quantum sensing such as optically pumped magnetometers and Rydberg atom based electrometry, electromagnetic simulation, fiber optic distributed sensing based on Brillouin, Rayleigh and Bragg scattering, fiber optic dosimetry, laser based sensing, and fiber optic interferometry.

The candidate should be capable of working both independently as well as part of a team and will be required to participate in off-site tests. Past experience in prototyping and field tests will also be beneficial.

The Naval Research Laboratory conducts research in a broad range of scientific and engineering disciplines of interest to the Navy. Candidates interested in pursuing a career in research are encouraged to apply.
