Job description

YMCA of Central Ohio Personal Trainer

Hourly Rate: $19-$22

Develop lifelong safety, leadership and communication skills

Duties include:

  1. Conducts personal training sessions with Members relevant to their goals; demonstrates proper use of equipment in the wellness center; observes the Members' use of equipment and detects/corrects movement patterns that may not contribute to goal achievement.
  2. Schedules each session, and begins each session on-time. Arrives 5 minutes prior to session for set-up, and stays 5 minutes after the session for clean-up. Ensures all sessions are conducted within the time allowed. Signs off on each session after it is completed. Has member sign-off on each session after it is completed.
  3. Builds effective, authentic relationships with Members; helps Members connect with each other and the YMCA.
  4. Regularly checks on Members' progress in meeting goals (both formally and informally); documents the conversations and progress using appropriate tools (i.e. DAXKO Engage, GroupExPro, physical trainer logbooks).
  5. Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
