What does a physical security management do?

A physical security management professional oversees the protection of an organization's physical assets, facilities, and personnel by developing security policies, implementing access controls, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating security personnel and systems such as surveillance cameras and alarm systems. They often work closely with security teams, use security management tools, and may hold certifications like CPP or PSP. Their role ensures a safe environment by preventing unauthorized access and responding to security incidents.

What is physical security management?

Physical security management involves the protection of people, property, and physical assets from threats such as theft, vandalism, natural disasters, and unauthorized access. This field includes implementing security measures like surveillance systems, access controls, security personnel, and emergency response plans. Physical security managers assess risks, develop policies, and coordinate with other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment. Their goal is to minimize physical threats and maintain the integrity of facilities and resources.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a physical security manager, and why are they important?
