Education

A bachelor's degree in a security related discipline and a minimum of five years documented qualifying experience in the areas below is required or ten years of documented experience.


Required Experience

  • Knowledge and experience must have knowledge and experience in a variety of staff/action officer functions involved in PHYSEC policy, planning, assessment, and administration at a military service headquarters. Such experience should include: physical access control, access control systems, identity management, credential management, critical asset protection, security engineering design, interagency security committee (ISC) risk management process (RMP) and other risk methodologies.
  • Must be able to work with various types of information technology applications, such as Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint at an intermediate or higher skill level.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge, skill, and ability to obtain and maintain appropriate access to use government databases, as required, such as: MPICAM, ISMS, Modified Infrastructure Survey Tool (MIST), Interagency Security Committee - Compliance System (ISC-CS), and the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN).
  • Possess the ability to develop, refine, or modify materials containing complex, technical, security ideas from a variety of sources for a variety of audiences. Additionally, must have the ability to prepare clear and concise written documents in accordance with the USCG Correspondence guidance that compels others to take a course of action, instruct others in carrying out activities, or explain the purpose, goals, and objectives of a policy or regulations.
  • Possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a multi-discipline of subject matter experts, and in facilitating and gaining organizational consensus."
  • Possess an intermediate or higher skill level with various types of information technology applications, such as Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Access, Excel, DOD365, and PowerPoint. Responsibilities:

SANCORP is seeking a Physical Security Analyst to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Office of Security Policy and Management (CG-SPM) security program activities. The following are examples of responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis and program support services for the USCG Office of Security Policy and Management, to include, but not limited to, the following Security Disciplines: Physical Security SME, Personnel Security Specialist, Force Protection Analyst, Industrial Security Specialist, Information Security Analyst, Law Enforcement Specialist, Security Analyst, and Security Administrator in support of the security disciplines in DCMS-34.
  • Analyze new and existing policy and guidance defined in Executive Orders, DHS, and DOD mandates and advise on recommendations to improve USCG policy in support of the security programs.
  • Perform as technical writers preparing written correspondence, Coast Guard Instructions and memoranda as directed to support strategic program goals and objectives using available media (e.g., MS Office, SharePoint and Acrobat Adobe).
  • Assist in developing training and awareness products using available technology applications such as MS Office, SharePoint, Adobe, etc...
  • Assist in Staff Assistance visits to operational USCG locations to assess compliance with mandated program requirements and best practices.
  • Assist in security planning to ensure levels of physical security are appropriate for
  • all USCG owned and leased facilities, all building occupants, critical infrastructure and mission essential functions. The objective of these assessments is to identify threats, security vulnerabilities and hazards, and consequences to determine risk levels and how best to implement countermeasures that mitigate the risk and provide optimal return on investments.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work when diverse demands are involved.
  • Manage multiple tasks that may require significant amount of coordination.
  • Analyze and evaluate information to prepare comprehensive recommendations, reports, letters and regulatory documents.
  • Research issues and to compile and coordinate information with appropriate officials' points of contact.
