Department: Listing Operations

Reports To: Listing Operations Supervisor

Location: Chicago (Addison), IL


Job Summary

The Product Grading Associate is responsible for efficiently processing inventory using a smartphone app within the BuyWander warehouse. This includes opening boxes, scanning barcodes, matching items, documenting item conditions with descriptions and photos, resealing boxes, and attaching company SKUs.


Responsibilities

Item Processing:

  • Use a smartphone application and scanner to scan barcodes on boxes.
  • Carefully open boxes and match items to their corresponding entries in the application.
  • Accurately describe the condition of each item.
  • Take clear photographs of items for documentation purposes.
  • Reseal boxes securely after processing.
  • Attach company-specific SKU labels to each processed box.

Data Entry and Accuracy:

  • Ensure all data entered into the smartphone application is accurate and complete.
  • Maintain attention to detail when matching items and describing conditions.

Organization and Efficiency:

  • Keep the workspace clean and organized to ensure efficient processing.
  • Follow established procedures to maximize productivity.
  • Hit or exceed daily item processing quotas.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding any discrepancies or issues.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate a smartphone and scan barcodes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and item documentation.
  • Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Physical Requirements

This role involves sustained physical activity throughout the shift. The following are bona fide requirements of the position:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in a goal-driven environment.
  • Position requires seeing, hearing, use of hands and fingers, sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities.
  • Must be able to communicate with others including talking, hearing, and listening and exchanging communication.
  • This position requires working both indoors and outdoors as business needs require. Employees may be exposed to a variety of weather and environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, humidity, and varying temperatures. Employees are expected to work safely in these conditions while following all company safety policies, using appropriate protective equipment, and taking reasonable precautions to prevent heat or cold related illness.
