Marketing Specialist

Capitol City Produce

Baton Rouge, LA โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Posted 23 days ago

Job description

When you work for Capitol City Produce, you discover we are all about people. Whether you are a team member or a customer, we have a singular focus: improving your experience. We gain our energy from creating "Wow!" experiences. So join our team and let us "Wow" you!
Marketing Specialist
Capitol City Produce is looking for a creative, organized, and hands-on Marketing Specialist to join our team.
This isn't a role where you'll spend all day doing one type of marketing. You'll have the opportunity to work across graphic design, social media, digital marketing, photography, video, events, email campaigns, website content, and brand communications while helping bring the Capitol City Produce brand to life.
What You'll Do
  • Create engaging, brand-aligned graphics, promotional materials, point-of-sale pieces, and other marketing collateral.
  • Develop content for social media, email campaigns, digital advertising, promotions, and other marketing initiatives.
  • Help manage our social media presence across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
  • Capture and edit photography for products, customer and employee events, company activities, and professional headshots.
  • Create short-form videos, Reels, testimonials, customer highlights, and other branded video content.
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns and e-blasts.
  • Support website updates and maintain accurate, visually appealing online product content.
  • Partner with Sales, Procurement, suppliers, customers, and other internal teams on marketing projects and promotional initiatives.
  • Help plan and execute company, customer, community, and industry events.
  • Prepare signage, booth materials, promotional items, samples, and other event materials.
  • Capture photos, videos, and social content during events.
  • Support internal communications, company signage, branded displays, and other creative projects.
  • Assist with the execution of the company's annual marketing plan and other marketing initiatives as needed.

What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, content creation, graphic design, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong graphic design skills and experience creating professional digital and print marketing materials.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or comparable creative platforms.
  • Hands-on experience creating content for social media.
  • Experience with photography and short-form video creation/editing.
  • Experience developing email marketing campaigns and customer communications.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable collaborating with multiple departments, customers, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Ability to occasionally support evening and weekend events based on business needs.

What Makes This Role Different
You'll have the opportunity to work on marketing projects from concept through execution. One day might involve designing promotional materials or building an email campaign, while another could have you shooting video at a customer event, creating social content, updating product photography, or helping bring a major community event to life.
We're looking for someone who enjoys creating, not someone who wants to stay in one marketing lane.
If you're creative, detail-oriented, comfortable behind both a computer and a camera, and enjoy seeing your work come to life through digital, print, social, and live events, we'd love to hear from you.
Capitol City Produce is an equal opportunity at will employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age, race, religion, color, disability, sex, sexual orientation or national origin.
