Job description

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE


We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Production Assistant to support the product development process from initial concept and sample development through production.


This role will work closely with the product development team to ensure samples, materials, packaging, purchase orders, and product information are accurately tracked and managed. The ideal candidate is someone who can stay organized while managing multiple projects and deadlines and who takes pride in accuracy, follow-through, and attention to detail.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Shipping & Logistics

  • Pull and organize materials needed for product development.
  • Prepare accurate packing lists, create commercial invoices and other required shipping documentation.
  • Coordinate and track shipments.
  • Monitor shipment status and follow up on delays or issues.


Sample Tracking & Inventory

  • Track and label samples throughout the entire product development process, from initial development to PPS ready.
  • Track sample team WOs
  • Photograph samples and maintain an organized visual sample library.
  • Monitor projects and ensure they are progressing according to schedule.
  • Maintain accurate inventory tracking records.


Packaging Development

  • Assist with packaging development. Communicate packaging requirements and specifications to vendors. Track packaging projects and ensure deadlines are met.


Item & Order Spreadsheets

  • Create product item order spreadsheets. Ensure spreadsheets are accurate and follow process through product development department.


Swatch Cards & Cost Sheets

  • Assist in creating and maintaining product swatch cards.
  • Organize and label fabric, material, color, and other product swatches.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in product development, purchasing, production, operations, packaging, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, primarily Microsoft Excel.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong follow-up and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, purchase orders, shipping documentation, and product information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to accurately maintain detailed records and documentation.
  • Photography skills or experience photographing products/samples is a plus.
  • Experience in textiles, apparel, home goods, or a related product-based industry.
