Job description

 

Northfield Bank became a division of Columbia Bank on July 20, 2026. This position is based at a Northfield Bank location that is anticipated to rebrand and operate as a Columbia Bank location in early 2027

Summary: Performs Maintenance work on bank buildings and equipment which requires the regular use of at least three trade and craft skills.  Analyzes and determines solutions for maintenance related problems.  Performs general maintenance and landscaping work.  

Job Responsibilities: 

General Maintenance & Safety

  • Performs maintenance work on  Bank buildings and equipment including but not limited to basic maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning. 
  • Maintains bank buildings and grounds which include monthly inspections and upload of photos to file sharing site.  Travels to all buildings to perform general maintenance work or in response to problems and/or emergencies.  Performs repairs when needed.  
  • Maintains safe walkways and parking lots at bank buildings. Spread salts and/or sands on walkways when necessary to ensure they are clear of snow and ice during inclement weather. 
  • Keep work van adequately stocked with tools and supplies.
  • Assists with branch openings, closures relocations, and renovations.
  • Supports facilities projects and capital improvements.
  • Coordinates with Facilities Management on preventive maintenance planning.

Problem-Solving

  • Diagnoses building, equipment, and operational issues; identified root causes; recommends and implements corrective actions while minimizing disruption to business operations.

Furniture Delivery, Set-up, and Repairs

  • Delivers and sets up office furniture for bank departments.  Makes repairs to existing furniture and moves furniture as needed.

Other Responsibilities

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

         Ability to:

  • perform task under adverse weather conditions
  • lift 50 pounds on regular basis
  • utilize regular use of trade and craft skills including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
  • stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
  • respond to emergency situations outside normal business hours

Driving Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
