Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients. As our Phlebotomist, you will primarily be responsible for the accurate collection and processing of blood samples and other specimens as defined by the site.
Every day, you will provide a high level of customer service, addressing lab inquiries, clarifying test requirements, and providing other essential laboratory information. Your meticulous sample collection and professional patient interactions will be crucial to efficient lab operations and quality patient care.
To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional technical skill in phlebotomy, a strong commitment to accuracy and patient comfort, and excellent interpersonal skills for effective customer service.

  • Performs venous, capillary, urine drug screen, swab collection, or other specimen collection as defined by site.
  • Ensures quality collection of specimens, including appropriate sample container, sample volume, collection priority, and sample identification.
  • Receives specimens, assesses priority, assures appropriate specimen identification and appropriate specimen type.
  • Centrifuges, aliquots, and distributes samples to appropriate testing area.
  • Prepares samples for offsite testing to include assessing appropriate sample type, container, and temperature.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely result reporting, including communication and documentation of critical results.

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred

  • Completion of a phlebotomy program
  • Six (6) months of phlebotomy work experience
  • Certified Phlebomist such as PBT(ASCP) or equivalent certification
