Position Summary
The Health Sciences Division is currently looking to fill part-time (adjunct) faculty positions in the Health Technologies department. The Sinclair Clinical Phlebotomy certificate is intended to provide entry-level competency to students seeking employment in the area of phlebotomy in health care settings. This certificate is also intended to provide expanded competencies and proficiencies to practicing health care professionals and students enrolled in health science programs.
The starting pay for Adjunct Faculty is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. This position may require flexibility in teaching location at Sinclair's Centerville campus, Courseview campus in Mason, or the Hope Center.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; Certificate of Phlebotomy preferred
  • Minimum of one year of work experience as a phlebotomist required
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
  • Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction

Health Sciences staff may be required to meet health requirements, including immunizations and COVID-19 vaccination, to meet the conditions of health care facilities where staff administer clinical coursework, other requirements of their respective health care disciplines, or of federal, state, or local government.
