Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) position in our Laboratory. The primary location for this position is: Tillsonburg District Memorial HospitalKey Responsibilities:Required to collect, prepare, label and refer laboratory specimens;Perform phlebotomy and ECG procedures;Clerical duties as applicable.Qualifications:Completed post-secondary course at an officially recognized community college or technical institution related to phlebotomy or Medical Laboratory Assistant Program;Certified Medical Laboratory Assistant (OMST) required;2 years' experience in phlebotomy in a hospital environment;Excellent communication skills and the ability to deescalate and provide a positive patient experience;Possess solid technical skills for phlebotomy and ECG collection, including preparation and processing of specimens and patient documentation;Knowledge of ECG billing in Cerner and MUSE application;Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicableOther pertinent conditions:As per the OPSEU Salary Grid ($32.59 per hour to $37.26 per hour)Applying to this Position:If you meet the above qualifications and are interested in applying for the position, please click on APPLY NOW and submit a resume detailing your qualifications.Must be available to work all shifts as required, which may include; weekends, statutory holidays, days, evenings and night shifts.
