Your future role at a glance

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Facility: Ascension Medical Group Clinic

Department: Northside Internal Medicine

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm

How you'll make an impact in this role
  • Execute precise blood collection and specimen processing using proper techniques to ensure patient comfort and high-quality samples for critical diagnostic testing.
  • Manage the end-to-end specimen lifecycle-including receipt, centrifugation, and transportation-safeguarding sample integrity for accurate lab results.
  • Maintain rigorous safety and infection control standards by sterilizing equipment and preparing testing instruments to guarantee a safe environment for both patients and staff.
  • Audit and resolve order discrepancies by managing pending lists and duplicate requests to keep laboratory workflows moving efficiently without delays in patient care.
  • Streamline administrative workflows through accurate data entry, demographic collection, and phone support to ensure seamless communication between the lab and care teams.
What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Preferred Credential(s): BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Certification specializing in Phlebotomy credentialed from the American Society for ClinicalPathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC). Phlebotomy Tech. Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board ofCertification (ASCP-BOC). Medical Laboratory Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT). Tech credentialed from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians. All issuing authoritiesaccepted.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
    • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience,if applicable.
