Overview
We are recruiting a psychologist with expertise in behavioral sleep medicine. This position will include screening, assessment, and evidence-based intervention, providing short-term interventions for youth cared for in the Children's Mercy Sleep Disorders Program, the only pediatric program in the region accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. The sleep psychologist will collaborate with a robust team of sleep medicine physicians, advance practice providers, respiratory therapists, and sleep technicians within the Division of Allergy, Immunology, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine to provide multidisciplinary care. The sleep psychologist will provide behavioral sleep interventions, collaborate with other care providers to address CPAP adherence, and participate in complex medical clinics such as narcolepsy, cataplexy, and parasomnias. This position will include a strong teaching component that includes both psychology and medical trainees.
This position includes protected academic time for service, research, and other scholarly activities. Faculty mentoring and hospital-wide educational programs are available for those interested in clinical scholarship (e.g., program evaluation, quality improvement initiatives). This position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience. We are recruiting at all levels of experience.
