The Software Engineer will design and develop software for an electromagnetic positioning system. Must be recognized as having advanced knowledge in software development. The Developer will create software as part of a project team that results in a complete surgical navigation product by formulating and developing software solutions to a wide range of complex navigation and system control problems, as well as communicating status and results.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software for an electromagnetic positioning system.
  • Must be recognized as having advanced knowledge in software development. The Developer will create software as part of a project team that results in a complete surgical navigation product by formulating and developing software solutions to a wide range of complex navigation and system control problems, as well as communicating status and results.
  • Preparation of reports and other documentation.
  • Recommend improvements.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • Required: BA, BS, or Master's degree in software engineering or related field. PhD preferred.
  • Proven experience developing complete software products.
  • Solid C / C# or similar programming experience.
  • Five years - Software development, troubleshooting, documentation, and testing experience in a regulated industry, medical device preferred.
  • Experience with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong documentation and writing skills.
  • Collaborates well with team members and functional area representatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of best software development practices.
  • Software development, troubleshooting, documentation, and testing for medical devices.

  • Generation and protection of intellectual property via through innovation and proper use of procedures and documentation.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work in an office, engineering lab, and manufacturing support environments
  • May require occasional lifting of equipment up to 25 pounds
