Job Description

Eurofins Environment testing in Albuquerque, New Mexico offers our customers a wide range of environmental laboratory services. We are experienced in the analysis of organic and inorganic contaminants in drinking water, wastewater, sludge, oil, soil, wastes, solids and air. We are seeking a Microbiology Analyst to join our team! 

This position will be responsible for testing and assisting Microbiology staff with routine water quality microbial testing, adhering to department's daily QA/QC requirements, as well as supporting other laboratory needs that may arise. Previous experience in a laboratory environment is preferred. 

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of samples following strict Standard Operating Procedures
  • Input of data into corporate database
  • Filtering of microbiology samples for compliance testing as required by federal regulations
  • Cleaning and maintaining specific laboratory supplies, i.e., tubing and other specialized glassware
  • Following safe work practices and adhering to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
  • Perform total Coliform / E.Coli testing, BPD, and oil and grease testing. 
  • Performs other duties, as directed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Microbiology or related field
  • Minimum of at least 3 months of bench experience with water, milk, or food microbiology.
  • At least 30 days of on-the-job training in environmental microbiology under an experienced analyst 
  • Understanding of basic laboratory practices related to Microbiology or related fields, including safety and aseptic techniques
  • Authorization to work in the United States, without restriction or sponsorship 
  • Role will require lifting up to 50 lbs as needed, and standing throughout the day

Ideal Candidates will have: 

  • Experience with EPA 1623
  • Training acceptable to the State (or EPA) in Microbiological analysis of water
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills in Microsoft Word, Excel is preferred
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Self-motivation 
Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. with overtime as needed. 

Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Albuquerque, New Mexico are encouraged to apply. 

Compensation range: $20-$22 / hour.
