Job description


Kelly Science is seeking a Scientist specializing in polymer chemistry to join a growing company located in Romeo, MI.


Salary: $90,000/year + bonus potential

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Employment Type: Full Time; Direct Hire


Summary:

As a Scientist, you will create new technologies and problem solve in structural and environmental sealing materials and processes through a technically fundamental approach.


Job responsibilities include:

  • Develop innovative adhesive materials and processes using a strong technical approach to solve problems.
  • Independently plan, run, and lead development and testing projects to create new products or improve existing technologies.
  • Keep up-to-date and expand knowledge in key scientific areas such as physical, chemical, analytical, or formulation methods.
  • Design and carry out experiments to better understand how current products and processes work.
  • Collaborate with scientific colleagues and partners from around the world.
  • Create and protect new ideas and inventions by supporting intellectual property and patent activities.
  • Support patent activities through filing activities, patent surveillance, and defense of our intellectual property.
  • Promote and ensure safety in both laboratory and office settings.
  • May provide leadership to technicians and specialists.


Qualifications:

  • PhD in chemistry, material science or a related scientific field strongly preferred.
  • 0-3 years of product development experience strong preferred. Strong background in polymer chemistry required.
  • Must have strong communication skills and work well in a team setting.
