Job description

This role is responsible for generating scientific documents and providing critical, thorough scientific fact-checking and evaluation of existing materials to ensure the accurate and timely progression of projects. These tasks include preparing documents, verifying references, editing content for accuracy, and rewriting as needed for a lay audience. The position serves as an expert resource and collaborator to other business units, including assisting the Clinical Research team with statistical analysis for the development of clinical studies and analysis of study outcomes. In addition, this role supports the responsible use and evaluation of AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and consistency across Scientific Affairs workflows, including literature review, reference verification, scientific content triage, product and ingredient research, clinical study support, and internal knowledge management, while maintaining high standards for accuracy, sourcing, and scientific integrity.


Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a Scientific Affairs resource and partner to other business units, including Marketing, Product Development, Discovery Research, Magazine, and Clinical Research to review documents, presentations, and related materials as appropriate.
  • Works with Clinical Research to review clinical study protocols and final report for publication and data for presentation at scientific meetings. Assists in the statistical planning of studies and analysis of outcomes.
  • Reviews draft content of Life Extension Disease Prevention and Treatment textbook chapters for medical and scientific accuracy and organizational consistency. Supports section updates with literature review and new content generation.
  • Supports the evaluation and responsible use of AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies in Scientific Affairs, including review of tool outputs for scientific accuracy, appropriate sourcing, workflow relevance, and alignment with internal standards.
  • Supports Marketing to develop product copy libraries, blogs, and wellness guides, reviewing for scientific accuracy.
  • Collaborates on development of Product Brief with Product Development and serves as Champion for new products.
  • Provides scientific guidance for Life Extension Magazine articles to ensure accuracy and internal consistency.
  • Maintains current up-to-date expertise by monitoring new publications, attending seminars, pursuing directed readings.
  • Supports Scientific Affairs team in developing “whitepapers” to address internal questions/concerns from executive team.
  • Works collaboratively with the Senior Scientists within Scientific Affairs to efficiently utilize the expertise of each.
  • Respects deadlines and communicates with project stakeholders.
  • 2 days per week onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Additional duties as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • Advanced degree required (MS, MA, or equivalent); PhD/MD/ND and 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Outstanding written English competency with professional writing experience, knowledge of biostatistics and their application
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn AI-enabled productivity tools and apply them responsibly to scientific writing, literature review, and content quality-control workflows
  • Customer focus and a sense of urgency
  • Robust familiarity with MS Office applications, PubMed and ability to utilize referencing software, such as EndNote
  • Superior attention to detail
