Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Information Technology (IT) Project Lead to join our team at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH . This is an onsite position.

As an IT Project Lead, you will manage the cost, schedule, and performance of small to medium-sized Technical Direction Letter (TDL) initiated projects. You will develop and deliver digital transformation, modernization, and modifications in accordance with approved Technical Direction Plans (TDP). They are responsible for gathering, documenting, analyzing, and managing these requirements throughout the entire development lifecycle. This involves close collaboration with various stakeholders, including clients, users, and development teams, to ensure that the final product aligns with their needs and expectations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage cost, schedule, and performance for technical modernization projects; provide recommendations and status briefings to management on project aspects.
  • Coordinate activities with functional specialists in contracting, engineering, and logistics; creating clear and concise requirement specifications that serve as a common understanding between the client and the development team.
  • Execute risk management strategies to address technical gaps and potential issues; apply systems engineering principles and practices for ICON TDL projects.
  • Identify and prioritize critical technical data for TDL planning with stakeholders; establish processes for accessing and updating technical directions.
  • Conduct assessments and lead program-level review boards; monitor project work quality and mentor subordinates; coordinate cost and schedule issues with Regional Site Managers.
  • Should have technical knowledge of what is required to set up a small network with an office i.e. what connector types are required to plug into the wall, separation requirements, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4+yrs experience OR High School and 8+ yrs experience OR Associates and 6+ yrs OR experience OR Master's and 2+ yrs experience OR PhD and 0+ yrs experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of position-specific relevant experience.
  • Experience in systems engineering principles and technical subject matter expertise.
  • Background in risk management and project lifecycle oversight.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must be US Citizen with Active TS/SCI.
  • Special Access Program eligibility required.
  • Must be willing to submit to a polygraph limited to counterintelligence questions.
  • Must maintain compliance with DoD 8140 requirements.
  • Additional security screening may be required for this position.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
