Penn State Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Clinical Therapeutic Medical Physicist to join our dynamic department - where advanced technology meets compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative, supportive environment.
About the Position:
In this key clinical role, you'll support radiation therapy physics services at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. As part of our expanding team of nine therapeutic medical physicists across three locations, you'll contribute to a full spectrum of advanced treatment techniques - including IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS, and both LDR and HDR brachytherapy.
Your expertise will directly enhance patient safety and treatment accuracy while supporting research and educational initiatives that drive innovation and fulfill our academic mission.
What You'll Work With:
  • Siemens Go-Sim CT scanner
  • Varian TrueBeams linear accelerators
  • Varian VariSource HDR brachytherapy system
  • ARIA 16 EMR and Eclipse treatment planning systems
  • MIM Maestro software for image processing and fusion
  • Gamma Knife Icon - part of our renowned Penn State Health Gamma Knife Program

All our linacs support IMRT, VMAT, and IGRT capabilities to deliver precise, high-quality care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
  • Master's degree in physics or equivalent knowledge required.
  • Eligibility for ABR/ABMP certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics

What We're Looking For:
Preferred (but not required)
  • MS or PhD in Medical Physics, Physics, Engineering, or related basic science
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience in radiation oncology physics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Board certification (ABR/ABMP) in Therapeutic Radiological Physics
  • Experience with Varian equipment and software
  • Experience with Elekta Gamma Knife systems
  • Brachytherapy experience
  • Familiarity with MIM Maestro
