Job description

Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH) is a warm & vibrant workplace, with children & their families serving inpatient units & ambulatory clinics. The Physiotherapist III - Research Clinician will support both clinical and research initiatives within the Vi Riddell Pain and Rehabilitation Center and the ACH Physiotherapy Department. This position will contribute to a clinically driven program of research relating to mobility and motor disorders and treatment in children and youth, especially those with neurological conditions. Working together with the Rehabilitation Physiatry team and Researchers, the PTIII will be responsible for contributing to an internationally leading research program and include initiatives such as the Innovative Walking Program and Resistance Intensive Training Program (RIPT), as well as quality improvement projects such as outcome measures and evidence-based practice benchmarking. The PTIII will support the implementation of evidence informed clinical practice, providing mentorship and support in the area of clinical research. The PTIII will provide clinical support, including assessment, consultation, and treatment for an assigned population. This position requires advanced professional pediatric knowledge and research expertise.

Description:

As a Physiotherapist III, you will be an integral member of our team through your leadership to other healthcare professionals (PT Is, PT IIs, Assistants) where you will facilitate the development and ongoing monitoring of clinical standards of practice for physiotherapy and patient (client, resident) care protocols in the department and geographical area. You will collaborate with management to support the development, implementation and evaluation of the department's operational plan strategies and may coordinate and monitor the care delivery for daily operations.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program; or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Post Graduate Masters level research OR PhD OR Post Graduate Research Training/Certificate Programs. Minimum of 5 years work experience in a health care or rehabilitation setting. Minimum of 3 years of Pediatric Work experience, preferably in tertiary acute setting Minimum of 2 years experience working in a clinically driven research program.
