Job description

We are seeking an experienced Image Processing SME to advance image analysis capabilities for high-resolution scientific and microscopy data. This role focuses on solving complex imaging challenges, developing innovative algorithms, and translating raw imagery into mission-relevant insights within a secure environment. Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and refine algorithms to correct and enhance scientific image data • Address complex imaging issues including aberrations, lensing defects, optical distortions, and non- linearities • Perform advanced image analysis to extract meaningful features from high-resolution datasets • Design and implement scalable processing solutions for large imagery datasets • Support mission-driven objectives in a fast-paced, operational environment Required Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience developing algorithms to correct scientific image data (e.g., aberrations, distortions, optical anomalies) • Strong background in image processing, analysis, and enhancement techniques • Experience working in classified or mission-focused environments Desired Qualifications:
• Expertise in object detection, feature extraction, and pattern recognition in high-resolution imagery (microscopy experience strongly preferred) • Experience with image stitching/mosaicking, including alignment, blending, and geometric transformations • Familiarity with preprocessing techniques such as noise reduction, contrast enhancement, and edge detection • Ability to process and optimize large-scale, high-resolution datasets • Experience developing, training, and deploying machine learning models for image analysis (real-time or batch) Preferred Experience:
• Prior work supporting government agencies, national labs, or defense contractors in imagery or scientific data analysis • Experience operating in secure environments and working with classified datasets Education:
• Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field The base salary range for this position is $170,000-$200,000 per year. This range is based on the Company's good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual salary will take into consideration various factors such as role level, experience, expertise, and education. We offer a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability benefits, life insurance and a 401(k) plan with company contribution. The total rewards package includes paid holiday and PTO and eligibility for merit increases and performance bonuses. GrammaTech, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Disability/Veterans employer.
