Job Overview:
We are looking for two Senior Exercise Specialists who are passionate about supporting healthy lifestyle habits to work at a high-profile company's fitness center located in downtown Manhattan, NYC.
What you will do:
  • Member Experience & Service Excellence
    • Greet members and guests using PRIDE and the 5/10 Rule to create a welcoming, personalized experience.
    • Respond to member questions, suggestions, and concerns in a timely and professional manner, escalating when appropriate.
    • Maintain strong knowledge of all site offerings and refer members to appropriate programs, services, or partners.
    • Support a safe environment by activating emergency action plans and administering first aid when necessary.
  • Fitness Program Operations
    • Assist with the coordination and execution of fitness programs, including group fitness, recreation activities, and Exercise Specialist services.
    • Support the development and implementation of monthly fitness challenges, wellness campaigns, and special events.
    • Help maintain program schedules, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
    • Coordinate instructor and specialist coverage, substitutions, and schedule adjustments.
    • Ensure program spaces-including studios, training areas, and recreation zones-are clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Staff Support and Communication
    • Serve as a communication bridge between the Assistant General Manager and program staff.
    • Assist with onboarding and orientation for new Exercise Specialists, instructors, and program staff.
    • Encourage team members to pursue ongoing education, certifications, and internal growth opportunities.
    • Support coaching efforts by providing feedback to the Assistant General Manager regarding staff performance, member feedback, and operational needs.
    • Reinforce Workplace Well being service standards and program expectations.
  • Program Quality & Engagement
    • Conduct quality checks on classes, training sessions, and program delivery to ensure consistency and excellence.
    • Gather member feedback through surveys, conversations, and instructor insights to help inform program improvements.
    • Support themed classes, pop up events, expos, and recreational activities.
    • Help ensure all programs align with the culture of the site, the client, and Workplace Well being.
  • Administrative & Reporting Support
    • Assist with weekly and monthly reporting related to attendance, utilization, engagement, and key performance indicators.
    • Support updates to communication platforms, signage, digital content, and program announcements.
    • Maintain accurate records of staff certifications, CPR/AED credentials, and required continuing education.
    • Support virtual fitness programming as needed.
    • Complete all required training and coursework in ADVANCE within designated timelines.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager.

What we are looking for:
  • A bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology or a related field, or a NCCA-accredited personal training certification.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
  • Industry knowledge in exercise testing (assessments) and exercise prescription (program design), and ability to operate various fitness tools and equipment.
  • Ability to network, engage and interact with all clients, guests and members.
  • Competence with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
