Department of Health and Exercise Science

Position Summary
Misericordia University is seeking qualified Adjunct Faculty to teach undergraduate courses in Exercise Science on a partโ€‘time, semesterโ€‘byโ€‘semester basis. We welcome dedicated educators who are committed to student learning, professional excellence, and supporting our mission of providing a valuesโ€‘based education in the Mercy tradition.

Responsibilities
Adjunct faculty may be assigned lecture or lab courses in areas such as:

  • Exercise Physiology
  • Kinesiology & Biomechanics
  • Strength and Conditioning
  • Anatomy & Physiology (with lab, as appropriate)
  • Motor Behavior / Motor Learning
  • Fitness Assessment & Exercise Prescription
  • Health Promotion & Wellness

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Preparing course materials, syllabi, assessments, and lab activities aligned with departmental standards
  • Teaching in faceโ€‘toโ€‘face or hybrid modalities, depending on departmental need
  • Providing timely, formative, and summative feedback to students
  • Maintaining accurate academic records, attendance, and grades
  • Supporting an inclusive, studentโ€‘centered learning environment
  • Collaborating with program faculty to ensure curricular consistency and accreditation standards

Minimum Qualifications

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or a closely related field
