Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for an Environmental Lead to support environmental programs with our Construction & Remediation Operation near Port Hope, Ontario.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience and familiarity with large scale construction and remediation projects.

This is a highly visible role, with a long-term client, and a large project scope.  Wood's Resilient Environments business has a long and successful history of delivering innovative solutions, and they have a solid reputation in industry. There are growth and development opportunities within the organization for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and processes
  • Experience will large scale construction and / or remediation projects
  • Interpretation of technical specifications and their application in environmental plans and projects
  • Administration and application of environmental plans and procedures to construction remediation works
  • Experience working in the nuclear sector considered an asset
  • Professionally represents Wood to the client, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project groups
  • Coordinating with internal project groups (Operations, Quality, Engineering, Radiation Protection, Health and Safety)
  • Technical writing (weekly / monthly reporting, data reporting, oversight audit pre-work, requests for information, etc.)
  • Responding to feedback from the client, the Environmental Program Manager, and internal project groups
  • Other duties and tasks as required / assigned by the Environmental Program Manager
Skills / Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or related fields preferred
  • College diploma / certificate in environmental technician / technologist is acceptable with the right experience / skillset
  • 5 to 7 years' experience working with integrated project plans and detailed technical requirements
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize evolving project requirements for multiple ongoing projects
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment with tight delivery deadlines
  • Strong technical writer
  • Demostrated critical thinking and communication skills
  • Team oriented
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience working with MS Word, Excel, and all programs under MS Office.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001 and QMS related processes
  • Skilled in data and records management
  • Eligible for Reliability Status Security clearance (more than 3 yrs working experience in Canada)
  • Valid G Class license
