The Associate Director / Director, MSLs is responsible for the leadership, direction and management of MSLs in the region and works collaboratively with the Medical Affairs Senior management with strategic and tactical planning, working collaboratively with Medical Affairs and Clinical Development teams for support of clinical studies across the product portfolio. Works closely with his/her direct reports in the field, Medical Directors and at times with external customers to gain an understanding of the scientific landscape and to communicate the information to key internal stakeholders. Provides all direct reports with an individualized view of their development plans and ongoing performance. Assists other managers (Associate Directors) with leadership competency criteria including performance management assessments of their MSLs and recommendations of promotions Creates a culture of accountability by personally delivering on work commitments, holding others accountable for their performance and by taking, timely, decisive and constructive actions to address individual MSL performance problems and issues

The Associate Director or Director, MSL, Oncology will have the following responsibilities:

Provide leadership, direction and management of the MSLs within their region.

Develop individual talent within the MSL team, including goal setting, providing oversight of activities, coaching, performance assessment, development, and engagement.

Provide field-level scientific leadership in assigned therapeutic area(s) working collaboratively with home office medical colleagues.

Collaborate effectively and compliantly with cross-functional and alliance leadership.

Ensure targets are clearly defined within teams, important information is cascaded well and accountability is driven in the organization

Requirements:

Advanced scientific terminal degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) with 8+ years of experience in the pharma/ biotech industry.

Previous experience managing field-based medical teams.

Proven performance in earlier role

Experience managing field-based medical teams directly in a supervisory/leadership capacity preferred.

Practical understanding of the FDA, OIG, HIPPA, PhRMA, and other international regulatory/ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.

Oncology experience preferred

Travel required for conferences, congresses, team meetings, mentoring/training activities and KOL/HCP interactions as needed.

The salary range for Associate Director, MSL is $206,600 - $271,215

The salary range for Director, MSL is $224,600 - $294,735

The annual base salary range for the Associate Director or Director, Medical Science Liaison, Oncology - Central region / Field-based is from :$206,600-$271,200Under current guidelines, this position is eligible to participate in : Eisai Inc. Annual Incentive Plan & Eisai Inc. Long Term Incentive Plan.

Final pay determinations will depend on various factors including but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, and skills.
