Job description

Geologist/Environmental Scientist

Our growth offers an exciting opportunity for a Geologist/Environmental scientist in our Environmental group.

A successful candidate in this role will be a mid- to senior-level professional with 7+ years of experience working with the Environmental Site Assessment, and Remediation Group.  In addition to performing and/or overseeing field work and preparation of technical reports, this individual will help mentor and train junior staff.

This position is focused on managing environmental remediation projects, conducting site assessments, fieldwork, regulatory compliance, and client management

Responsibilities include:

  • Performance and oversight of various aspects of public and privately funded brownfields and remediation projects in accordance with the PA Act 2 and Storage Tank programs
  • Field documentation, analysis of environmental data, fate and transport analysis, receptor surveys, and technical report writing
  • Phase I site assessments – including conducting and/or overseeing
  • Phase II site investigation field work and reporting
  • Field supervision and sampling for remediation projects
  • Supervision of drilling subcontractors and subcontractor oversight
  • Management of contracts and client care services
  • Management of field health and safety protocols

Required Experience:

  • BS Degree in Environmental Science, Geology or related scientific or technical field
  • Pennsylvania Professional Geologist license or appropriate coursework and experience to sit for PG exam strongly preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in conducting environmental investigations
  • Experience with Pennsylvania environmental regulations (including PA Act 2 and Storage Tank Programs) and Federal laws and regulations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including technical writing
  • Experience in field sampling of environmental media (soil, water, air, waste)
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour Certification preferred
