JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Economics seeks a part-time lecturer to teach lower- and upper-division economics courses. Applicants should have a Master's or PhD in Economics from an accredited university at the time of employment. The lecturer will be expected to conduct economics courses and hold office hours in accordance with the University's office hour policy, and to support the Department's mission of student-centered learning in a diverse learning environment
TYPICAL ACTIVITIES
Typical activities include teaching economics courses, offering additional learning resources for students in the classes, and holding weekly office hours. Teaching economics courses at the lower- and upper-division level, holding office hours, and responding in a timely fashion to student requests for help.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's or Ph.D in Economics from an accredited university at the time of employment.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
