As a member of Rhythm’s North America Field Medical team, the Sr. Manager, Field Medical serves as a trusted scientific partner to the medical and scientific community, establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the assigned geography. Through high-quality scientific exchange, the individual serves as a credible resource on disease state, clinical, and scientific data, supporting the advancement of Rhythm’s Medical Affairs objectives.

The Sr. Manager, Field Medical engages with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, investigators, and professional societies to generate actionable insights, advance scientific collaboration, and support the execution of Rhythm's medical strategy. The role contributes to evidence generation and Medical Affairs initiatives by identifying scientific opportunities, supporting appropriate research collaborations, and engaging in advisory boards, educational activities, and other scientific exchange opportunities that inform strategy and strengthen external scientific partnerships.

The territory geography covers the South Central (MO, OK, KS, AR) and candidates must be based in St. Louis or Oklahoma City.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Serve as a trusted scientific partner to key external experts by delivering timely, evidence-based, and impactful scientific exchange that advances understanding of the scientific and clinical value of Rhythm’s research and therapies.
  • Develop and execute strategic engagement plans with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) to support the successful implementation of Rhythm's medical strategy by:
    • Gathering and communicating actionable medical insights with clear implications and recommendations from KOLs, HCPs, and healthcare systems to inform medical strategy, evidence generation, and organizational decision-making.
    • Serving as a scientific peer-to-peer resource to disease experts and the broader medical community by providing timely, balanced, and evidence-based scientific and clinical information.
    • Identifying and cultivating relationships with potential investigators and providing field-based medical support for clinical trials, registries, real-world evidence initiatives, and other research programs.
    • Collaborating cross-functionally to provide scientific expertise and contribute to the development and execution of medical, scientific, and strategic initiatives at the local, regional, and national levels.
    • Identifying opportunities to advance patient care through research collaborations, educational initiatives, understanding care pathways and identifying scientific/education gaps, and other scientific partnership opportunities within key accounts and institutions.
  • Interpret and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data to address the educational and research needs of healthcare professionals, investigators, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Rhythm Medical Communications and medical strategy.
  • Maintain effective and appropriate communication among internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs colleagues, Medical Information, etc.) while maintaining full compliance with relevant company, industry, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information in a timely, accurate, balanced, and compliant manner.
  • Ability to contribute to North America Medical Affairs initiatives, congress activities, field medical training programs, and other strategic projects as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO) is strongly preferred. Candidates with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and relevant clinical experience in obesity, endocrinology, genetics, or neurology will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or related industry, with experience in rare disease, obesity, endocrinology, neurology, genetics, pediatrics, or other specialty therapeutic areas preferred.
  • Demonstrates understanding of healthcare systems, patient care pathways, and the evolving medical landscape within the assigned territory or region.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable regulations, industry guidance, and ethical standards governing Medical Affairs activities, including GCP, ICH, PhRMA Code, OIG guidance, and company policies.
  • Exceptional scientific acumen with the ability to critically evaluate, interpret, and communicate complex clinical and scientific information to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain credible, trusted relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, healthcare professionals, and other external stakeholders.
  • Strong insight-generation and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate field observations into meaningful insights, implications, and actionable recommendations that inform medical strategy and organizational decision-making.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively within a cross-functional matrix environment, providing medical expertise and fostering collaboration to achieve shared medical and organizational objectives.
  • Highly adaptable and resilient, with the ability to navigate through change, ambiguity, and adjust priorities in response to evolving organizational and healthcare needs.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, including experience leading scientific discussions, educational programs, and training sessions.
  • Self‑motivated with excellent organizational, project management, and territory planning skills.
  • Ability to travel 50 – 75% of the time.

This role is field based. Candidates applying must be willing and able to travel frequently and have easy access to transportation and airports.

The expected salary range for this position is $135,000-215,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, level, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance. This role may be eligible for benefits and other compensation such as restricted stock units.
